International Day of Joga held at CUTM

Paralakhemundi,(Tarini prasad panda):June 21, 2025: The NSS Bureau of Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), Paralakhemundi, observed the International Day of Yoga 2025 with enthusiasm and active participation, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. Held at the University Auditorium, the event witnessed the presence of all students, faculty, and staff members who came together to embrace the transformative power of Yoga. The celebration was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Durga Prasad Padhi, Director of Administration; Dr. S.P. Nanda, Dean of Administration; Dr. Prafulla Panda, Dean, SoET, Dr. S. N. Sandhya, Vice Principal, SoN, Dr. Ritesh Kumar, Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr. Nihal R., NSS Coordinating Programme Officer. Their presence and encouraging words added great significance to the event, reinforcing the importance of integrating wellness practices into academic life. The program commenced with a warm welcome and ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the light of knowledge, awareness, and inner peace. This was followed by the live broadcast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address on the occasion of International Yoga Day, where he highlighted the role of Yoga in uniting individuals across boundaries and fostering a healthier society. A major highlight of the event was the Common Yoga Protocol session, meticulously guided by trained instructors Dr. Prafulla Kumar Panda and Ms. Liza Mohanty. Their systematic and energetic instruction enabled participants to perform a series of Yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques with clarity and discipline. Under their guidance, the students and faculty members immersed themselves in the practice, experiencing a sense of inner balance, physical vitality, and mental calmness. The program also featured a digital showcase of Yoga-themed reels and social media posts created by students. This creative segment not only celebrated Yoga in contemporary formats but also encouraged youth-led advocacy of wellness through digital engagement. The interactive feedback session that followed allowed participants to share their reflections, with many expressing a renewed motivation to adopt Yoga as part of their daily lives. The celebration concluded on a cheerful note with the distribution of breakfast and refreshments, offering a moment of camaraderie and relaxation for all attendees.
