Paralakhemundi,(Tarini prasad panda): At Gajapati district blind belief & hectic superstitions trouncing one by one lives.Few davys back for such superstition link one person has been killed by villagers.Again such traumatic scene geared up in same Mohana block,where one witch craft guessing bearer has been cruelly killed by the villagers.Such ghast incident occurred at Kusumpur village under Mohana police limits.As per information one Karunakar Dalai(30)has been brutally killed.He was staying since last 8 months in that village. Besides that he was cultivating in small patch & used to give herbal medicines as treatment.Few days back one minor boy of 12 years died.So suspicion grilled in that family as redtapism hand of his death by Karunakar.So on 28th July Tumbanath Mallick & Lachman Mallick went to meet Karunakar.They kept Karunakar in village anganwadi centre by tying his body of hand & leg for 3 days.They also beaten him cruelly.After killing him they covered his body under earth.On such drastic killing Karunakar’s sister-in-law Sabita Dalai reported in Mohana Police Station. Later police searched his body & found in nearest forest.Behind such aghast killing Mohana police brought 8 persons to custody for interrogation.

While contacted SP Gajapati Jatindra Kumar Panda to convince villagers to avoid such superstitions & convergence with medical team at least sensitization to villagers needed.Instead they can approach regularly on any illness or diseases to local ANMs,ASHAs or CHCs.So that innocent killings can be stopped & such blind belief & superstitions can be eclipsed from villagers mind.
4 days back under Adava Police limits one Gopal Mallick has been killed for such superstitions brinks.Again such traumatic scene blitzing cacophony among villagers.
