Buguda,(Anil Kumar Maharana): Odisha SSB Lecturers Association elections will be held on 10th August 2025 . SSB lecturers working in 488 degree colleges in the state will cast their votes between 9 am and 4 pm. In this election, 18 candidates are contesting for 6 posts including President, Vice-President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Treasurer. Jitendra Kumar Sahu, Ashok Kumar Raut, Madan Meher and Lalatendu Mallik are contesting for the post of President, while Chiranjibi Das, Manas Ranjan Sahu and Ranjan Kumar Panda are contesting for the post of Vice-President. Sudhanshu Shekhar Panda, Gaurab Sharma, Gangadhar Pradhan and Sudam Sahu are contesting for the post of Secretary, while Samarendra Narayan Panda, Dushmanta Behera and Tulsi Raut are contesting for the post of joint Secretary. Gayadhar Malik and Niranjan Podh are contesting for the post of treasurer and Tapaj Kumar Patra and Tathagat Raut are contesting for the post of joint treasurer. According to the information of OSLA Election Officer Atmaprakash Nayak, this election will be held online. This is the first time in Odisha that such a large-scale online voting is being organized in a registered institution. In this online voting process, a voting link has been sent to the email of all the SSB Lectures registered as voters. Along with this, the voting link will also be given through WhatsApp. They can click on this link on the voting day and cast their vote. Such voting will create a unique chapter with the use of technology and it will be counted as a huge online voting in Odisha. The results will be announced on the night of voting. The faculty members have expressed their opinion that the election of representatives through voting will strengthen the democratic process.
