Paralakhemundi,(Tarini Prasad Panda): There is a provision to provide a Mahaprayan vehicle to take the body from the medical center. However, despite the family’s plea, the medical center did not provide a Mahaprayan vehicle. Fi-nally, the family carried the body on a bike. Such an incident occurred at the Gumma Health Center under Gumma Block in Gajapati district. The government has implemented various schemes from birth to death.
Even so, the government has been providing free vehicles to take the body from the medical center. However, a complete exception to this has been seen at the Gum-ma Health Center.
According to informa-tion, Chandradhwaj Singh (62) of Serang village fell ill on Wednesday and was ad-mitted to the nearby Gum-ma Health Center. During treatment, Dr. Alok Chan-dradhwaj was declared dead by the doctor. The fami-ly complained to the staff working to take the body, but to no avail. Finally, it is known that the family mem-bers were forced to take the dead body on a bike.
The topic of discussion is why the government’s Mal Mal scheme is being used. An innocent poor person, deprived of the govern-ment’s scheme, cannot af-ford to rent a vehicle and is forced to take the dead body on a bike. Therefore, intel-lectuals have strongly con-demned this. The family has demanded an investigation and strict action against the culprits. When I asked the Gumma health officer about this, he said that this matter did not come.
