Paralakhemundi:Three government primery schools in Gangabada panchayat of Raigada block in Gajapati district,remained locked and a local youth was attacked,which led to a law and order situation.Still,neither the district administration or police not took any action.Sources said,the teachers appointed at primery schools in Manikpatana,Sagadia and Champapur,were regularly irregular in attending their duties.As a result of which the kid students,who reach their respective schools indulged in playing,insted of study.Aggrieved with the absence of teachers the parents with school managing committee members has apprised the local sarapanch Haribandhu karji.On saturday,Karji placed the problem with the block education officials,with a warning that if the teachers not attend their duties on monday(7/4/2025)the schools will be locked.However,the officials did nothing and on monday,Karji with others visited the schools of the three villages and finding the teachers absent,has locked the schools,as demanded by the locals.Karji also informed the locking matter to district administration and district education department,but to no avail.However,on yesterday,the managing committee members of primery school at Champapur started teaching the kids outside the school campus.The committee members surprised,when none of the students able to write what was detected to them.During that time,the teacher of the school P.Ramesh with a group of people of nearby village in Andhra pradesh reached there and questioned the committee members why they locked the school.The teacher also broke the lock with a crowbar and threw away the table,chair etc of the school.Receiving the information sarapanch Kaarji reached the spot and persueded the teacher to refrain from causing damage to the school belongings.While the discussion was on,locals also reached there and a heated arguement surfaced.Soon the persons with the teacher abused the locals and also attacked with the crowbar,what hit the head of a loca,Laxman sabar(20).Following the bleeding injury,the teachers and his associates fled from the spot.Soon injured Laxman was taken to the local PHC and got bandaged the injury.Later in the evening Karji and Laxman reached Garabandh PS and submitted two written complaints against teacher Ramesh and his associates.After around three hours,Ramesh too reached the PS and lodged a complaint against Karji for locking the school.Today Karji reached the PS to get the copy of their FIR,but found the complaint was not registered.When he asked the reason,,the officials at the PS asked Karji to meet the SP.Karji said`I tried several times over phone to contact the SP and administrative officials,but probably due to lack of network failed to contact,however tomorrow morning I will go to paralakhemundi to place our grievences before SP and Collector.While no official was available despite contact,district education officer Mayadhar sahu shifted his responsibility by saying that block education officer of Raigada block has already been directed to inquire the matter.Now,the schools closed for the third consequtive day today and no official or police has not visited the areas.Tension flared up in various villages of Gangabanda panchayat,due to callous attitude by the administration and police.The residents in the panchayat has convened a meeting tomorrow to decide future course of action.Today scanning of head injuries of Laxman conducted at a private hospital in Mandasa of AP,and he is stable said Karji.Expressing his anguish over the callous attitude of administration,Karji said due to the reason AP administration making efforts to encroch our villages.He alleged that,the teachers appointed in the govt schools in Gangabada panchayat doesnt know oriya,and the officials of district education dept put a blind eye over it.
