Berhampur, Tension ran high in Chikiti gada of Ganjam district following the death of 19 year old youth in a road mishap.The deceased has been identified as Siba behera.Sources said,while Siba was proceeding to Dhanaghara from Chikiti gada on motorcycle,hit a electric pole on the centre of the road.As a result of which he received deep injuries on his head.He was immediately taken to Chikiti CHC and after first aid doctors reffered him to MKCG MCH.Though two ambulances were available at the CHC,but none of the vehicles was available to shift injured Siba.After waiting for three hours family members of Siba hired a private vehicle for MKCG MCH,but the doctors at the MCH declared him brought dead.The body was kept for autopsy.As the information spreaded tension prevails at Chikiti gada.The villagers has alleged that,the public works dept has already deposited the necessary cost for shifting of electric poles from centre of the road to roadside,but not shifted.As a result of which the poles of the centre of the road often causes accidents.Meanwhile local BJD leader Srirup deo pacified the irate locals.He alleged that,the health dept not provided ambulance to shift Siba to MCH,although two ambulances were available at the CHC.Hence for the negligence by the health dept,the deceaseds family should be given a compensation of Rs 20 lakhs.Apprehending trouble,massive police deployed in chikiti gada.
