Berhampur, Inordinate delay in expansion of the platforms at Chhatrapur railway station has earned simmering disctontentment among the passengers.The station,one of the oldest railway station.As chhatrapur is the headquarter of Ganjam district,many public depend on train.Meanehile,many trains including super fast,has stoppage at the railway station.But the old platforms are inadequate the compartments.As a result of which many compartments stays out of the platform,which causes immense problem for the passengers to alight or to get in.Particularly the senior citizens,ailing persons and kids often fell and sustained injuries almost everyday.Owing to persistant demands,the railway authorities approved for increase of length of the platforms in 2018.However tender was folated in 2020,but the expansion still remained incomplete and the reason,transfer of authorities,as along with the transfer,the plans reportedly modified.B.Srinivas,senior advocate and president of station develement committee fumed that `we approched most of the concerned authorities and resorted to agitational path,but it has not yeilded any result`.Echoing similar view several passengers also alleged,stepmotherly attitude and negligence by railay authorities to the Chhatrapur railway station,urged the authorities to look into the matter.
