Boudh: A different scene enacted in Tukulunda village in Harabhanga block of Boudh district today.While the enterence gate of the UP school remained locked,the students sat under tree shadows and the teachers taught them on standing mode.This situation has arised,as no action was taken by the district education dept.Aggrieved with the inordinate delay in initiating action against the head master of U.P.School in Tukulunda village,irate parents has threatened to lock the UP school from today.The parents and members of the school managing committee on saturday last has submitted a memorindum to Boudh district education officer(DEO),T.Dubey.Signed by over 30 persons including Panchanan dehuri,Arakhi naik,Sansar patra,Bijay mahalik,Binod bhukta etc,the memorindum stated that,Sachi pradhan,the head master of the school gave corporal punishment to two standard three girl students.They further stated that despite being no punishment zone,on 15/2/2025 the HM,Pradhan made the two girls to do sit-ups for 100 times for not doing their home work.The two,though fell sick,somehow returned to their homes and narrated their ordeal to their parents.Since the two found it difficult,their parents took them to hospital at Purunacuttack for treatment.Later,the aggrieved parents with others lodged a complaint with Harabhanga block education officer(BEO),who sent 3 CRCC and a senior teacher to Tukulunda to enquire.The team recorded the statements of the two girls and parents.Even the HM,Pradhan admitted according the punishment before the team in the presence of villagers.The villagers also alleged the team that the HM,Pradhan indulged in several irregularties and not conventing school managing committee meeting,besides spend the govt funds with out approval of the managing committee.They also demanded for action against HM Pradhan and also his transfer.Accordingly the teamassured the aggrieved villagers to initiate action against the HM with in two days.But so far no action was taken fumed the villagers.Panchanan dehuri,who along with other villagers submitted the memorindum to the DEO with copy to Boudh collector said,if no action be taken against the HM,pradhan,the school will be leocked.As announced earlier,the parents and villagers locked the school gate today and requested the teachers to take their classes under tree.Such incident took place in the village for the first time and the villagers too present at the spot.As the matter reached DEO,a four member team was sent to the village.The team headed by Jyotshnamayee mohapatra,asst BEO,Harabhanga told the villagers that the HM has been directed to report at DEO office.She said departmental proceedings has already been started against the HM and he would be transfered to other school.She also appealed the villagers to open the lock,what was accepted and the afternoon classes were conducted inside the school
