Gunupur:Rayagada district administration has started action in the sensitive incident of Anwesha hostel in Gunupur town.Three staffs were dismissed from service and the assistant hostel superiendent has been placed under suspension.District welfare officer Asima rao,who had visited the hostel on yesterday said on friday night a group of students had allegedly made a murderous attack on three students in the hostel and a video clipping viraled.She said though the matter is still under investigation,but action initiated basing on preliminary evidences of lapses by the staffs.While asst supt rashmita sahu has been suspended,the three other staffs Chandrika sabaar(cook)and two hostel attendants Mamata paraja and Rambha mandangi has been removed from service by rayagada collector,said the DWO.A case has been filed at Gunupur PS against nine students on the charge of brutally beating the three students and another 7 students has been barred from hostel for a month,who has created distrubance,said additional district magistrate Nihar ranjan kanhar.The order of the Rayagada collector Parul patwari stated that on the charge of mismanagement,irregularity and gross negligence in performing her duty in the Anwesha hostel Rashmita sahu has been suspended from 9/3/2025 and fixed her head quarter at Sub-collectors office at Gunupur with a direction not to leave HQ without prior permission.The collector also ordered Anil kumar dash,teacher at high school in Kujendri to take the charge of asst hostel supt of Anwesha at Gunupur,on deputation till further order.Meanwhile police registered a case agains 9 students basing on the complaint of DWO and started a search for the nine students.
