Berhampur: When the verification of certificates and mark sheets of school teachers in Ganjam district continued since last seven year,yet the state higher education department issued a similar directive for lecturers of colleges.Following frequent allegations of serving on fake certificate and marksheets by some teachers,in 2018 Odisha mass education directorate asked the district education officers(DEOs)for verification.Accordingly in 2019,a special cell was formed to verify teachers’ certificates in Ganjam district to verify the certificates submitted by junior teachers during appointment since 2011.Though several fake teachers detected and faced action,still the verification continued.However,in the absence of DEO details about the fake teachers not available.But as per district education records,so far 110 primery cadre teachers found serving on fake certificates.Out of the detected fake teachers 75 teachers has already been dismissed and another 50 teachers were arrested,besides another 18 teachers are facing departmental proceedingsMeanwhile the HE dept has directed the principals of non-govt aided colleges for detection of fake lectures.The directive asked for verification of mark sheets/certificates of qualifying examinations of both teaching and non-teaching employees.The directive stated that allegations about working of employees in different non-govt aided colleges by submitting fake and fabricated certificates/marksheets,has reached the HE directorate.To weed out such fraudulant means adopted by some employees it is required to verify the original mark sheet/certificates of each employees in aided colleges should be verified.Such aided colleges should submit a consolidated data in respect of each of the employees along with an affidevit sworn before concerned area excutive magistrate,that the same have have seen verified and found to be in order.In case any anomoly is found at the time of verification,the same is to be reported immediately to HE dept for further course of action.In Ganjam district 23 aided colleges are there.
