Phiringia:In a shocking incident,Phiringia police in Kandhamal district has arrested a 21 year old youth for killing his father.The deceased has been identified as Dakena digal(58)and the killer is his son Suraj digal,of Lamapada village under Phiringia PS limits.According to IIC,Gopinath pradhan,the incident took place late night on yesterday and today Suraj has been arrested.The IIC said Suraj used to booze regularly and comes home at odd hours.Yesterday night,Suraj returned home at midnight and Dakena repriminded him.However Suraj under the inflluence of liquor lost his cool and in a fit of rage brough a hammer and hit his father repeatedly till his death.Some time later,Dakena`s wife,who remained in the locked house to avoid the altercation between the father and son,came out and found her husband dead and her son sitting nearby.Soon she raised an alram and the co-villagers.On being informed police reached the spot and took Suraj into their custody.Today the body was sent for autopsy said the IIC.
