SHAKTI PEETHA CORRIDOR TO COME UP IN ODISHA

Berhampur: Shakti peethas in Odisha will be developed into a shakti peetha corridor announced,Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Pravati Parida at Taratarini shrine in Ganjam district today.Attending the last Tuesday of Chaitra yatra of goddess TaraTarini in Purusotompur block of Ganjam district,she said Maa Tara tarini shrine of Ganjam,Maa Biraja temple at Jajpur,Maa Ugratara temple and Maa Bhagabati temple in Banapur,Maa Mangala in Kakatpur,Kalijai temple in Chilika and Maa Bhairavi temple will include in the shakti peetha corridor.She further said Odisha government aims to build shakti peetha corridor in next two years,which will have helicopter facilities for the convenience of devotees.Accompanied by Works,Law and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan,Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena and Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda Mallick,besides MLAs K.Anil Kumar,Saroj Padhy,Mrs Parida has interacted with the stakeholders about future development work,after inspecting and reviewed the ongoing development work at the temple.Stating that the famous shrine is closely linked with the religious,spiritual,Social and cultural feelings of the people of Odisha and the site is also a major tourist destination in the state.The government is taking a host of measures for the development of the temple complex and nearby areas in order to attract more tourists to the site, she said.The dignitaries also paid her obeisance to the Goddess at the shrine.Priests,Trust members and key local government officials involved in the functioning and upkeep and maintenance of the temple placed their suggestions and opinions.The Tara Tarini Temple is a major Hindu shrine of Adi Shakti at the Kumari Hills on the bank of Rushikulya river.
