Berhampur: Recovery of the body in hanging state of a final year student of computer science in GIET University at Gunupur in Rayagada district has spreaded a shock wave in the campus.The deceased youth has been identified as Sandeep lenka(22)of Rajnagar area in Kendrapada district.Sandeep got appointment at Bengaluru based tech mahendra organisation during campus selection.Last week he returned to the campus from his work place Bengaluru and staying in room no-24 of Newton hostel,to appear the final year examination.Yesterday a function was held in the campus to bid farewell to the final year students,which continued till late night.Today morning,when the woman sweeper reached the room,found it locked inside.She knocked the door,which was not responded.The hostelmates also knocked the door,as not responded,they inform the university authorities.When the door was broke opened,Lenka found hanging from the ceiling fan.Receiving the information,soon police reached the scene with scientific team and sent the body for autopsy.Preliminary investigation indicated it as a suicide said IIC,Utam kumar sahu.He said,the parents of Lenka has been informed and after their arrival autopsy would be conducted.However,the reason of taking the extreme step remained a mystery. Expressing his dismay,university Dean(Admn)N.V.J.Rao said Lenka was a good student and dear to all.During his stay inthe hostel,he used to participate in all the activities and also encouraged his collegues.Even,he was never seen under stress nor never faced any complain,still he took the unbelievable step.
