Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Saturday apprehended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Khurda’s Bankoi police outpost Tusharkanta Nayak and Home Guard Prashant Kumar Sundaray while allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe.According to a Vigilance release, Nayak demanded illegal gratification in connection with a case registered at the outpost in which he was the investigating officer. The Home Guard was nabbed while accepting the bribe money on behalf of the ASI. The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from them.Simultaneous searches are currently being carried out at two locations to ascertain whether the ASI has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.A case has been registered under Section 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
