CDA WHIP ON LATECOMERS

Cuttack: The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) has withheld the salaries of 15 employees for repeatedly turning up late to office, officials said.As per information, the CDA Secretary issued this order on Friday following repeated reports of some employees habitually arriving for duty well past scheduled office time. signalling an effort to uphold discipline within the department.Sources said many employees used to reach office after 11.30 am or even 12 noon, which not only amounted to gross indiscipline but also affected efficiency and daily functioning.Show cause notices have also been issued to the employees, and it has been mentioned that disciplinary actions and departmental proceedings will be taken against the employees who fail to furnish satisfactory explanation.CDA secretary Sweta Kuma Dash said it is difficult to ensure smooth functioning when officials report at their convenience as important files often get delayed.Dash said office will not be able to function properly without discipline and punctuality. Therefore, the action is necessary to reinforce accountability.Officials said that attendance will at CDA office be closely monitored, and biometric attendance records will be reviewed regularly to ensure discipline.
Sources said the delayed attendance of some staff members had become a pattern, leading to serious workflow disruptions.
