Berhampur:In a shocking incident two minor girl siblings were allegedly abducted from a social function,kept in a abondoned house and gangraped by four youths under Golanthara PS limits in Ganjam district.A hunt has been launched by the police to trace and apprehend the perpetrators.The incident,which took place late night on 3/6/2025,came to light after family members of the survivors lodged a complaint with the police today.Sources said,on the night of 3/6/2025 while a marriage cermony was held in a house of Markandi village.Relatives gathered of the family gathered.Among them the victim siblings a 15 year old another 11 year old,went missing in the middle of the festivities,leaving the family members worried.A frantic search for the two girls was launched in the area by the family members,who later learnt that two youths present in the same event had lured the girls to an abondoned house at the ODRP colony on the village outskirts.The youths with two other youths had then taken turns to sexually assault the minor girls before abandoning them at the isolated place.Later the two victims returned to their homes.The four also threatened the victims not to disclose the incident to anyone,orelse to face dire consequences.Though the threaten compelled the two minor girls mum,but they informed their mother about the incident,when on the next day again the youths asked them to come to the house.After the girls narrated their ordeal,the family of the victrims shocked,as the four youths also of the village.Moreover,fearing social stigma,the families, prefered mum over the matter,allegedly pressurised by others.However,late night on yesterday,the victims families reached the Golonthara PS and apprised the incident to police,said Berhampur SP,Dr saravana Vivek M.Today morning they lodged a written complaint,basing on which a case has been registered.Medical examination of the two victim siblings were conducted at MKCG MCH and their statements also recorded,said the SP.Special teams has been formed and a manhunt launched to nab the accused.Meanwhile the police questioning the parents of the suspected accuseds,who are at large.Sources said,the 15 year old victim has affair with one of the four youths and left the marriage venue when he asked her to come.While she left with the youth,her 11 year old cousin sister followed her and was raped by the four along with the 15 year old girl.
