BOARDER DISPUTE CONTINUED IN GAJAPATI

Paralakhemundi,Inordinate delay by Odisha government for a concrete demarcation of its land in Gajapati district boardering Andhra pradesh has often caused unpleasant situation for the people in Odisha villages.Since more than two decades neighbouring Adhra officials and political leaders made several attempts to include villages of Gajapati into Andhra limits.The Andhra officials centered their eyes on Manikpatana,Amaringi,Burusing etc villages of Gangabada panchayat in Rayagada block of Gajapati district.However,stiff opposition of locals the efforts often proved futile,but the endavour by Andhra officials continued.They allure the residents of Gajapati villages by giving Ration card,Voter I card, financial and other benefits for the women and students.Though so far,so far Andhra officials not succeded in their efforts,still their endevour continued in intervals.The neighbouring Andhra Pradesh has once again stirred controversy by allegedly threatening the residents of Amaring to evict them from the village.Sources said,a group of revenue officials of Mandasa mandal in Srikakulam district of Andhra,reached Amaringi village on yesterday.They told the villagers that the community hall,Bana surakhya samiti building and some houses under Abas yojona constructed in the village is on Andhra land.They said,the villagers that the two buildings and some houses in the village too would be demolished,what made the villagers panicky.The Andhra officials told the villagers that if they will give them in writting for their willingness to merge with Andhra,there will be no eviction.The Andhra officials left the village saying that they would return soon.After the departure of Andhra officials apprised Haribandhu karji,sarapanch of Gangabada panchayat.Karji with others placed the matter before the district administration with a request to initiate action.Accordingly,today,Rayagada sub-collector Anup panda with other officials and police force reached Amaringi.As per the map prepared jointly by the Odisha and Andhra,the entire Amaringi village comes under Odisha limits said Panda.He said a report in this regard will be prepared and submitted to Gajapati collector for necessary action.On the otherhand Sarapanch Karji said,the dispute continued as the previous govt not initiated any concrete action.But now the BJP is in power so also the its allies is in power of Andhra,hence both the govts should solve the boarder dispute.
