Centurion University Celebrates Future Healthcare Professionals at Oath-Taking and White Coat Ceremony

Paralakhemundi:Centurion University’s School of Nursing, Paralakhemundi, hosted its Oath-Taking and White Coat Ceremony on 23rd July 2025, symbolizing the students’ formal entry into the nursing profession. This solemn event marked a significant milestone in the journey of these aspiring nurses as they pledged to dedicate themselves to the service of humanity with integrity, compassion, and commitment.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Mahendra Kumar Bhuyan, Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (ADMO), Family Welfare Organization (FWO), Gajapati; Shri Jatindra Kumar Panda, Superintendent of Police (SP), Paralakhemundi; and Dr. Santanu Padhi, District Medical Officer (DMO), District Headquarters Hospital, Paralakhemundi.
Dr. Anita Patra, Registrar, Centurion University “emphasized the vital role nurses play as the backbone of healthcare and the importance of ethical practices and unwavering commitment. “This ceremony reminds us of the sacred duty of nurses to bring light and hope into the lives of their patients”.
Professor S.N. Sandhya, Vice-Principal of the School of Nursing, welcomed the gathering with an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of the nursing profession and the role of Centurion University in shaping future healthcare professionals.
The all nursing students took the Florence Nightingale Pledge to uphold the principles of integrity, confidentiality, and empathy in their professional journey. This pledge was a defining moment, symbolizing their commitment to serving society with dedication and care.
Professor Sunil Kumar Jha, Director School of Nursing, Centurion University, spoke on the deep connection between healthcare and life, highlighting the dignity and responsibility embedded in the nursing profession.
