Paralakhemundi,(Tarini Prasad Panda): A vibrant and informative two-days long 4th Utkal Krishi Mela was organized by Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha at its Paralakhemundi campus drawing thousands of farmers, agricultural experts and entrepreneurs across the region. The event was inaugurated by the dignitaries, i Gokula Nanda Mallik, Minister of Fisheries and Animal Resource Development and MSME, Govt. of Odisha as the chief guest, followed by Guest of Honors- Shri (Er.) Rupesh Kumar Panigrahi, Hon’ble MLA, Paralakhemundi, Shri Gavara Tirupathi Rao, Chairman, Zilla Parishad, Gajapati. The inauguration included a warm welcome by lighting of the ceremonial lamp, state Anthem and welcome note address by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Nayak, Pro Vice-Chancellor, CUTM, in presence of Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Pattanayak, Honble Vice-Chancellor, CUTM, and Prof. D. Ν. Rao, Vice-President, CUTM, setting the tone for the day focused on grass root agricultural development and benefits to farmers of Odisha. Respected chief guest appreciated the role of Centurion University in promoting skill based agriculture education and out reaching different agricultural technologies to the farmers of agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry sectors. He also encouraged all the farmers present thereto take the advantage of different Govt. schemes for their livelihood empowerment. Hon’ble MLA, Paralakhemundi threw light on the importance farmers in shaping the agriculture, the back bone of South Odisha emphasizing on using of cutting edge technologies and climate smart agriculture for improving crop productivity.
