Parlakhemundi, (Tarini Prasad Panda): One person died and 21 were injured in separate accidents in Gajapati district. According to the incident, Pandara Sahir Barik Kharada (56) Kashinagar was killed in an unknown vehicle accident at Ranipenta Chack near Parlakhemundi town. Similarly, 20 people were injured in a bus accident at Gatushal Ghati under R. Udayagiri police station. According to information, a road accident occurred at Ranipenda Chack near Parlakhemundi in Gajapati district at around 5:30 am. Barik Kharada and his son were going to Jirang Hat from Kashinagar on a scooty. The pickup van exploded and overturned. The father Barik died on the spot while the son was slightly injured. The father’s life passed away before the eyes of the son. The police have seized the body and sent it to the Paralakhemundi District Head Hospital . A case of accidental death has been registered at the Paralakhemundi police station.
Similarly, a private bus (OR 19N 6531) lost control and crashed into a hill at the Gatushal Ghati under the Udayagiri police station in Gajapati district. The bus was traveling at a high speed when it lost control and the accident occurred. The police and the fire brigade rescued the injured. 21 injured have been admitted to the R. Udayagiri Hospital and are being treated. Praan Rohit (51) of Udayguda village, who is in critical condition, has been shifted to the Paralakhemundi Hospital for urgent treatment.
