In a tragic incident,a woman was burnt to death and her husband battling for his life being injured critically in a fire mishap in their home at Charichaka under Purunakatak PS in Boudh district.The deceased women has been identified as Bishnupriya kanhar.Last night,while cooking in her home,fire believedly due to leakage of gas,caught her and spreaded.Hearing her screams and seeing her in flames her husband Sribant kanhar tried to save her.But both sustained serious burn injuries.Sources said,Bisnupriya,a school teache and her husband,Sribant Meher,is the sarpanch of Banibhusanpur panchayat.While Bisnupriya succumbed to the injuries on the spot,Sribant was first taken to the Purunakatak Community Health Centre and later shifted to the Boudh District Headquarters Hospital.As his condition deteriorated further,he has been shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.Today the police sent the body for postmortem and started a probe into the incident.
