Berhampur,The SHGs,those are not showing interest in paddy procurement process,should be eliminated and other interested SHGs be included,directed odisha revenue minister Suresh pujari.While reviewing the revenue matters of Ganjam district today,minister Pujari said,the FAQ of paddy depends on the seed,hence better seeds should be used for high yeilding.The collector apprised the minister that this year the procurement started with a 478 PACs and 1,46,504 farmers registered to sell their paddy.By 16/1/2025 as many 4079 farmers sold 173424.47 quintal of paddy and by the end of february the procurement process would end.Crop loss was assessed by Revenue,agriculture and horticulture dept officials in the district.As per the norms the farmers,whose crop over 33% were damaged are eligible to receive assistance said district chief agriculture officer Rabi narayana panda.he said after the crop loss,as many 53,120 farmers applied for compensation,of which 41,5o95 farmers has already been given a sum of Rs 9,29,16,471/-.After reviewing the loss of paddy in the district due to unseasonal rain,Minister Pujari said govt is ready to assist the farmers.He said,Ganjam needs more mandi which would be created before next khariff season.The minister was apprised that of the total 703 mutation cases filed,629 has been finalised.Similarly 8667 application for ROR under basundhara yojona received 1643 beneficiaries has been found eligible.Of the eligible beneficiaries 757 will get their ROR.The minister directed to free the land of tribals from non-tribals.He also directed return back the lands to revenue dept,those allotted for industries ,but not used.The minister said,steps has been taken to conduct hightech survey to provide ROR at urban areas.Several individuals also met minister Pujari and urged him to allow part selling of their land.they stated the minister that since 2022,the part selling stopped,as a result of which they are facing immense problems.
