Cuttack: A case of Covid-19 has been detected in Odisha’s Cuttack city. A 44-year-old man in the city has tested positive for Covid-19 after showing flu-like symptoms, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Cuttack Prashant Hota said on Friday.Following a blood test, the patient was confirmed positive and is currently under home quarantine and treatment. His condition is reported to be stable, the CDMO said, adding that the patient has no travel history.It may be noted that a fresh case of Covid-19 surfaced in Bhubaneswar on May 22, sparking fears about potential resurgence of the virus in the State. The infected person who had returned to Bhubaneswar from New Delhi tested positive for the virus.Health officials are tracing his contacts to prevent further spread and have urged the public to remain cautious and follow health guidelines.This is the latest case in a recent string of Covid-19 positive cases in the state, with five previous cases reported mostly from Bhubaneswar and Khurda.Director of Public Health Nilakantha Mishra has stated that there is no alarming rise in cases so far and advised individuals with Covid symptoms, such as SARI and ILI, to consult their doctors and get tested if necessary.
