NATIONAL VOTERS DAY CELEBRATED

Bhubaneswar: The state-level 15th National Voters’ Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rabindra Mandap here on Saturday.Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja graced the occasion as chief guest and administered oath to all.The event showcased the strong commitment to democracy that resides in the hearts of every citizen. It also served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility the citizens hold as voters to shape the future of the nation.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Secretary said that voting is an important democratic duty. India is an example in the world as the largest democracy. As citizens, we all have a responsibility to maintain this foundation, he said while calling upon the voters to be more committed to that responsibility.

On this occasion, a short film and photo exhibition on voter awareness were launched by the Chief Secretary.Since 2011, National Voters’ Day has been observed annually on January 25 to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India. This event aims to underline the centrality of the voter, raise electoral awareness among citizens and inspire their active participation in the democratic process.
