Berhampur, BJD led BeMC once again in wrong foot.In the 42 ward council,the BJD rules wigh 36 corporators.However,after the debacle in the last general election,the BJD corporators divided.While one group led by BJD,ganjam president Dr R.C.Choupatnaik,Mayor Sanghamitra dalai,dy mayor Vivek reddy,the other group patroned by former Berhampur MLA Bikram panda.Allegint irregularties,the corporators of Panda group has urged the chief minister Mohon charan majhi to intervene into the matter and to initiate action against the irregularties,the faction led by Mayor ,urged the collector alleging unrully behaviour by corporators of other faction.Last month BJD supremo Naveen patnaik called both the groups to Naveen nivas and aksed both the groups to work unitedly.But the directive has no impect on the factions.Two days back,senior BJD leader Sanjay dasburma,reached Berhampur and held separate meetings with both the groups,but failed to solve the dispute and the stalemate in BJD continued.While the factionalism affected the development works of BeMC,the recent,detection of exhorbitant charge for purchasing mosquital,has led to a enquary.Meanwhile,several files from the National Urban Health Mission(NHUM)office in the BeMC premises stolen.Though the incident took place on last monday,but no official is ready to speak over the matter.After the theft the NHUM officials lodged a complaint with Town PS on tuesday,but no one got scent of it.However,the matter came to fore when the police started investigation.During investigation police verified the CCTV footage,what displayed that a man entered the BeMC premises by jumping the boundary wall at around 4 am on last monday.He entered the NHUM office on first floor of Nagavali building of BeMC and stayed there for around 10 minutes,before leaving the office with a bunch of files.Town PS,IIC,Soubhagya swain said the footage which has been seized shows that the man stole some cash and the files and scaled the boundary wall.The irony is that,huge amount released to the NUHM and the BeMC premises if being guarded by security personals.In such a situation,how the man entered and stole the files raised many eyeborws.On the otherhand the man who stole the files has been identified and search is on to nab him,said the IIC.
