Berhampur, A Woman has been convicted to life imprisonment for killing son by the District and Sessions Judge,Ganjam today.The convicted has been identified as S.Gangama.According to prosecution,in 2023 the case took place under Town Police Station limits in Berhampur.In the case it was alleged that Gangama killed her 8 year old son by pushing him into a pond due to a family dispute.Initially,the police had registered the case as an accidental death as it was stated that the child drowned in Bijipur Pond.However,after reviewing the evidences,the District judge Rupasree choudhury viewed that Gangama had intentionally killed her son.Accordingly,the Dist judge,in its judgement has sentenced her to life imprisonment.
