Rayagada:Ina tragic incident,a 18-year-old youth met with watery grave infront of his family in Nagavali river in Rayagada district today.The family from Andhra Pradesh reached Rayagada to offer prayer at Majhighariani temple near Mariguda of Rayagada town.The deceased identified as Sai Krishna,had visited the revered Maa Majhighariani temple with his family.Later the family reached the nearby hanging bridge to enjoy the scenic beauty,whilt the family were enjoying,Sai reached the river for a bath,but swept away by the river current.The police and fire department launched a rescue operation and recovered the body.Such incidents faced by tourists near the hanging bridge have become regular affairs. Many have lost their lives while taking selfies amidst the natural beauty of the Nagavali river.Despite repeated warnings from the administration, tourists continue to disregard safety restrictions, posing a significant risk to their lives. This is not an isolated incident, as two students from a local private school lost their lives just a few days ago.
