Berhampur: Three persons killed in a group clash between two groups in Kharpali village under Badagada PS limits in Ganjam district today evening.The three deceased persons has been identified as Khadala behera(60)his son Ratnakar behera(30)and Ramesh behera(45).Sources said,the clash took place for sorcery allegation at around 7.15 pm today.The father and son duo Khadala and Ratnakar were ostracised by the villagers on the suspecion of sorcery practioner.However the duo stayed in the village despite having bitter relation with other villagers.Today evening a hitch took place between the duo and villagers,reportedly for fetching water from a well.Soon it turned into fisticuffs.As the duo beat up couple of the villagers,others reached there lessed with sharp weapons.The father and son duo also brought sharp weapons and the group clash took place.The duo mercilessly attacked the villagers injuring four persons,what infuriated the villagers.Enmasse the villagers attacked the father and son duo.Though the duo tried to ran away,the villagers chased them and attacked them.While Khadala was attacked infront of his house,his son Ratnakar was attacked at a distance of around 50 meters and died instantly.The villagers were so infuriated that,they continuesly hit the duo with sharp weapons even after the death of the duo.After killing the duo,the villagers took the four injured villagers to Dharakote hospital.However one of the injureds Ramesh behera succumbed to his injuries and the three other injureds has been shifted to MKCG MCH.After the clash the irate villagers set fire to the house of deceased Khadala,but village elders doused it apprehending spreading of the fire to other houses.Along with Khadala,3/4 families were also ostracised.Now while the family of Khadala and his aged father remained in closed door,so also the other ostracised families. Receiving the information Aska SDPO with IICs of Badagada and Dharakote and armed forces reached the village.Despite repeated attempts no police officer available to comment.However,the villagers has blocked the entry to the village and not allowing anyone to enter.The police officers sought more forces and after their arrival,may enter the village.Deadbodies of Khadal and his son Ratnakar still lying in the village till the report was filed.
