Berhampur: Berhampur MP,Pradeep panigrahy has urged the Odisha chief minister Mohon charan majhi to initiate measures for establishment of national institute of Pharmaceutical Education and research(NIPER)in Ganjam district.In a letter to the CM today,the Lok Sabha member,said that the NIPER in Ganjam district will not only fulfill the longpending demand of the southern region,also bolster the pharmaceutical education and research in odisha.Berhampur,is a natural and suitable choice for setting up such a prestigious institution,owing to its well established ecosystem for pharmaceutical sciences,he stated.Justifying his demand,the MP said,Berhampur has the oldest pharmacy college of the state and the region is strategically located with excellent connectivity by road,rail and has an extensive land bank at its outskrits.He urged the CM to direct for necessary measures to earmark land and provide the requisite infrastructure for the project.Such a move will reduce the regional disparities and inspire a wave of educational and industrial progress in south odisha.
