Phulabani:Health ATM facility started in Kandhamal district.We have received six such ATMs and installed them on a pilot basis,said CDMO,Dr Santosh padhy.The facility,first of its kind and a free of cost diagnostic unit has installed at Phiringia PHC on saturday.Subsiquently,such ATMs has also been installed at Nuapada,Gochapada,Balandapada,Sadangia and at the DHH at Phulabandi town.The machines, which allows around 60 different health tests,have been installed at the PHCs in collaboration with an NGO and a financial services group.A live demonstration was also conducted by technicians and medical officers, highlighting the function and benefits of the health ATM, at Phiringia PHC.Besides basic health check-up, patients can undergo eye tests, ENT, skin and nail check-up, blood tests, lipid profile test and receive quick and more efficient test reports even in Odia. “Patients in rural areas will benefit from it, as they can consult with doctors over phone and send reports through WhatsApp or email,”said Dr Padhy.He said,these are solar-powered and can function in remote areas where lack of electricity can be a problem. added.
