Berhampur:A thought-provoking extramural talk on the topic “Technological Development towards Vikshit Bharat 2047” was organized by Odisha Research Centre (ORC),Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with Berhampur University(BU) today.Held in BU campus,the event, exploring the role of technology in shaping India’s future development, was part of Odisha Research Centre’s special lecture series “Odilogues”.Presided over by Chairman,PG Council Prof Sukanta Kumar Tripathy,Prof Chandi Prasad Nanda, Director of Odisha Research Centre,presented a synoptic and insightful overview of the Odisha Research Centre’s vision and contributions towards academic discourse and knowledge dissemination.He highlighted the significance of the “Odilogues” series as a platform to foster discussions on contemporary issues, aiming to bridge academic insights with policy perspectives.Speaking in it,Virendra K. Tewari,former Director of IIT Kharagpur,highlighted the crucial aspects of technological innovation required to propel India towards the Vikshit Bharat Mission by 2047. He emphasized the need for integrated approaches, from education to infrastructure, to harness technology for sustainable growth and development across various sectors.The event attracted students, faculty, and researchers, who engaged in a stimulating discussion on how technological advancements can address challenges related to healthcare, education, agriculture, and urbanization.Tewari also stressed that collaborative efforts between educational institutions, industries, and policymakers would be key to achieving the vision of a developed India.Prof.L.N.Raut,Yash Sharma and Ms. Sonali Dalai, researchers at Odisha Research Centre also spoke in it coordinated by Sadananda Nayak,HOD,History and Prof Jogeshwar Panigrahy propsed the vote of thanks.The event provided valuable insights into the pathways that can lead to India’s technological and socio-economic advancement in the coming decades,opined the participants.
