Berhampur: The fortnight long `Odia Pakhya`started in much funfare across Odisha since Utkal divas. However, neither the administration nor the state govt or elected representatives, has no time to look into the problems faced by Odia people living in boarder areas. The neighbouring Andhra Pradesh’s intrusion into Odisha’s territory is not new as several instances of its forceful trespass continued since decades in the bordering districts of Koraput,Rayagada,Ganjam and Gajapati,as no such sincere efforts taken by Odisha.Earlier the AP govt and political parties made their presence felt during elections, now their presence are regular in southern districts. After Kotia of Koraput, now is the turn of Patrapur block of Ganjam district to experience the fangs of AP.Since past some days, the Andhra administration alluring the tribal dominated villages of Patrapur block, asuring to excute their developmental programmes. As such,a good number of the residents of boarder villages including Kuladi,Satapuri,Gudikhala etc of Tumba panchayat in Patrapur block availing benefits of AP govt, those have ration cards of both the states.Added to it,now the residents are allegedly allured by AP administration for ROR of lands, health service,House under housing schemes,Overhead water tank, allowances,Power etc.Apart from it,two villages of Tumba panchayat,Kuladi,Silerising has been shown in records as of ward no-9 of Talagurandi panchyat under Manjusa mandal of AP.In kuladi village, the AP has constructed a overhead water water tanks and supplying the water to the residents.Several villages of the Patrapur block availing benefits of both the states. But some Odisha boarder villages are there, those neglected by both the states. The irony is that, even after long years, one has to cross Andhra limits to reach the Odisha villages. For instance,T.Bramhapur village under B.Nuagaon panchayat of patrapur block. The connecting road to the village, remains in Odisha as well AP limits. The village has a road to Ichhapuram in AP via Jayantipur-Samantiapalli in Patrapur block. While the road passing in Odisha limits widened to double road, the road after Jayantipur in AP limits are single road. The ironly is at the boarder of Odisha-AP,around 800 meters of T.Bramhapur still remained soil road, which turned as a nightmare for the people. But both the state govts put a blind eye to the soil raod patch.Since the patch became low lying,a small rain fills it,what is evident from the last weeks rain,as the water still waterlogged the patch.Meanwhile the identification stones placed at various places in the block, with informations, has already earesed, which made it difficult to identify the limits. Not only the intrusion problem, also no steps were taken for the villages of Patrapur block to provide postal facility.Sources said,Sabaradeipeta village of B.Nuagaon panchayat,Balarampur,C.Balarampur village of Gudipadar panchayat of patrapur block has their postal address in post offices at Lodhaputi and Dharampur of AP.Surprisingly,B.Nuagaon and Gudipadar has post offices.Since several youths of Sabaradeipeta,Balarampur etc are serving in other states and even in foreign countries, postal service is the only mode of correspondence.Interestingly, earlier five boarder villages of AP were under post offices at B.Nuagaon and Gudipadar, but following their demand,,the AP govt changed their post offices to AP.But,no steps were taken to change the post offices of Odisha villages.Ironcally, when no administrative official available after repeated attempts, the postal authorities expressed their ignorance and said steps would be taken if any written complaint reaches them.
