Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police on Monday arrested three persons on charges conducting an illegal interview in a hotel under Kharvel police limits in Bhubaneswar for recruitment in Israel.Those arrested have been identified as Babulahari Gouda (42), Mahesh Ramchandra Lokhande and Kiran Shashikant Ghumre (51). While Babulahar, a resident of Khandara village in Ganjam district of Odisha, was residing in Mumbai, his two associates were natives of Raigad in Mumbai.Speaking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena said that a case was registered against them on April 20 after receiving a complaint from Sunil Kumar Sah, Protector of Emigrants, Bhubaneswar, over phone.“The investigation revealed that the accused individuals had widely circulated fake advertisements on social media and used forged documents resembling official notifications from the Ministry of Labour & Employment to mislead job seekers. They were collecting Rs 5,000 in advance and the job seekers were asked to pay another Rs 70,000 after offer letters were issued to them,” he said.The accused were neither authorised by the Ministry of External Affairs nor by any registered recruitment agency. Resumes of several candidates, forged documents and 4 mobile phones were seized from them, the DCP further stated.“The arrests helped in preventing job seekers from being duped of huge amounts of money,” he added.
