Berhampur:Town police in Berhampur has arrested one Ratikanta Senapati @ Julee(45)today,on the charge of forcibly settling family disputes.Senapati claimed to be close to BJP leaders has forcibly evicted many persons,but none dared to raise complain with police.Last week one A.Kiran Kumar reported at Town PS that there is dispute between his brother and family members regarding their landed property.Meanwhile,Senapati along with his 10-15 anti-social associates came to his house and abused and threatened him to vacate the house by taking Rs five lakhs,else he will face its consequences.Similarly,there has been a long-standing dispute between House owner E. Dwarikanath of Prem Nagar and Complainant rent holder P. Raja Pravakar Rao owing to a civil dispute pertaining to a Shop.In this regards multiple cases have been registered by both parties at police station and civil cases are going on in the court.In this matter Senapati and his accomplices have been illegally interfering without any authority.On 17.05.2025 the stock of Home appliances including AC machines, Furniture etc,from the disputed shop house were taken away by Dwarikanath with assistance of his henchman Senapati and his accomplices.When,Raja pravakar resisted,Senapati and his associates abused him and demanded Rs 30 Lakhs.Basing on the complaint of Raja a case was registered with Bada bazar police against Senapati.As evidences against Senapati gathered,he has been arrested said Berhampur SP,Dr Saravana Vivek M adding that further investigation in this case is going on to identify and arrest other accused persons.
