Centurion University Hosts FDP on Next-Generation Wireless Communication and Energy Harvesting

Paralakhemundi,(Tarini Prasad Panda): The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), Odisha, in collaboration with the Electronics and ICT Academy, NIT Patna, successfully completed a Two-Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Next-Generation Wireless Communication and Energy Harvesting Technologies.” The program is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and is scheduled from August 18 to 29, 2025, in hybrid mode.

The FDP is convened by Mr. Prabhat Kumar Patnaik and coordinated by Dr. Pragnyan Parimita Pradhan, under the academic leadership of Dr. Prafulla Kumar Panda (Dean, SoET), Dr. Anita Patra (Registrar, CUTM), and Dr. D.N. Rao (Vice President, CUTM).

The program features 42 hours of intensive sessions, combining theory, pedagogy, and practical labs with hands-on training on MATLAB, HFSS, and CST Studio Suite. It aims to equip faculty members, researchers, and industry professionals with the latest knowledge in wireless communication, antenna design, and RF energy harvesting technologies, thereby contributing to the development of future-ready communication systems.

Eminent resource persons are delivering lectures and demonstrations, including Prof. Ganapati Panda, Dr. Shailendra Kumar (IIT Bhilai), Dr. Nishant Kumar (IIT Jodhpur), Dr. Prabina Pattanayak (NIT Silchar), Dr. Monalisha Pattnaik (NIT Rourkela), Dr. Basant Kumar Sethi (NIT Surat), Dr. Taimoor Khan (NIT Silchar), Dr. Akash Kumar Pradhan (VIT Chennai), Dr. Ashish Tripathy (VIT Chennai), Dr. Arnab Ghosh (NIT Rourkela), Dr. Jagannath Panda (BSNL, Bhubaneswar), Dr. Priyanka Tiwari (Industry Expert), Mr. Subrat Kumar Prusty (DGM Telecom, Assam), Mr. Pickon Majumdar (MATLAB Expert), Dr. Raseswari Pradhan (VSSUT Burla), and other distinguished experts from academia and industry. With a strong focus on cutting-edge research, industry applications, and hands-on skill building, this FDP is expected to significantly enhance the professional competencies of participants and strengthen the knowledge ecosystem in advanced communication technologies.
