Rayagada, Despite claimed efforts,malaria goes unabated in Rayagada district.The tribal dominated district was declared malaria free in 2018,but this year the scenario is different.The district health office admitted two deaths(both students of sevashram) during june-july,a total of 12069 positive cases detected during the current year,with a increase of 32%of positive cases.The district health office records shows,while the highest of 1860 positive cases detected at Chandrapur CHC,the lowest of 448 cases detected at Ramanaguda CHC.The irony is that the rise of malaria cases recorded in the district,despite claimed excution of programmes including Early Diagnosis and Complete treatment(EDCT),Insecticide Residual spray(IRS) and distribution of mosquiot nets.
