Berhampur, Ganjam district excise sleuths has arrested a 38 year old man and seized around 17.280 liters of adulterated IMFL.The man hails from Hinjili town and identified as Suryanarayana patra,opted a innovative plan for his business.He used to pack the duplicate IMFL bottles of small size in kurkure cartons.The cartons supplied at the panshops and eateries in Hinjili,Purusotompur,Kabisuryanagar and several villages by private passenger buses on the route.The cartons with IMFL and kurkure used to despatch at the villages in between Hinjili-Purusotompur-Kabisuryanagar.Since the price of the IMFL was almost one fourth of the orginal IMFL bottles,the fake imfl was on great demand.However,as the duplicate IMFL hampered the business of licenced IMFL outlets,they reported the matter to excise police.Today,while Suryanarayana was about to load some cartons on a private bus at Hinjili,the escise sleuths nabbed him with the cartons.Suryanarayana though admitted the liquors containing duplicate IMFL,but has not disclosed the source of procurement,but said unidenfied persons used to supply the duplicate IMFL bottles at a isolated place.Since the profit margin was high he opted for the business.He however admitted that since last one month he is in the business and sending around 5 cartoons packed with duplicate IMFL bottles and kurkure snaks.The Excise DSP said,Satyanarayana has been forwarded to court and further probe is on to nab the mastermind of the racket.
