Berhampur,Ganjam district often witnessed bloodshed and clashes between supporters of political parties.Now,the situation aggravted as factionalism of all the major political parties came to fore.To overcome from such problem,30 police act has been promulgated by police in the district.The district has two police district,Ganjam and Berhampur and the respective SPs,Subhendu patra and Dr saravana Vivek M,today publicised the promulgation today.The notifications issued by the two SPs stated that,long standing party faction between members of different parties due to political differences and in connection with such activities of lawlessness,taking adventage of the political nature of such clashes,local anti-socvial elements are joing such groups in large number in furtherance of their criminal and anti-social activites under coverage of political meetings,processions etc.Such public meetings,procession organised by different political partie groups have potentiality of seriously affecting law and order situation in the areas.Such meetings and procession,if not controlled,may likely to cause serious breach of peace.Hence,section 30 of police act 1961 has been promulgated said both the SPs.They said,the promulgation will remain active from today till next 90 days.The organisers of meetings,procession,needs to apply to their respective area PS,SDPOs,mentioning the number of participants,speakers,time and routes.
