Berhampur,Purusotompur police in Ganjam district has cracked the mystery of a loot from a aged woman and her granddaughter,by arresting five persons and also recovered the loot,today.Ganjam SP,Subhendu patra said,on 05.01.2025,Ashok Kumar Gouda (34)of Purushottampur,presented a written report alleging there in that on 04.01.2025 evening, while his mother Kuntala Gouda (68) and niece Sweety Gouda,were coming to home from village Chadhiapalli through one Autorickshaw, but the said autorickshaw driver took away them somewhere else instead of Purushottampur. When his mother and niece did not return to home, the complainant and his family members searched them but could not traced them.While the entire family were worried,Ashok,has received one phone call from Chatrapur Govt Hospital that Rambha PS staff has rescued his mother and niece in unconscious condition from Birulikainchapur village and admitted them at Govt Hospital Chatrapur.The family reached Chatrapur Medical.As the condition of the woman and her granddaughter was critical,the doctor referred them to MKCG MCH.A case has been registered and Sub-inspector Kshetramohon sahho took up the investigation.The woman and granddaughter,still are undergoing treatment at MKCG MCH Berhampur.The duo had boarded the auto,where in three others already present.The duo were drugged and the four dumped them on roadside after looting alll their belongings.During investigation police gathered that Jilapi@ Basanta Sahu(52)the auto driver,hails from Jaganathprasad committed the crime with three others,Jati@ Susanta Rout(37)of Nayagarh,Jagu@ Jagannath Mohapatra(39)of Khurdha and T.Dharmaraj Achary(31)of Bhanjanagar.After the loot,they sold the articles to Kira@ Ashis Sahu(23)of Dhenkanal.Police seized five mobile phones,16 grams of melted gold,the auto,a cash of Rs 17,650/-The five has been arrested today and forwarded to court.
