Khalikote:, Tension ran high in Haripur village under Khalikote PS limits in Ganjam district,following brutal murder of the husband of Naeb Sarapanch Minati das of Tulasipur panchayat.The deceased has been identified as Rabindra das(41).Sources said at around 7 am today,a group of around six,lessed with deadly weapons attacked Rabindra suddenly and killed him on the spot.Before anyone reaches,the attackers fled from the spot.Soon,the locals reached the spot and reported the matter to police.On being informed Chhatrapur SDPO,Chandan ghadei,Khalikote IIC,Ramesh kumar pradhan with force reached the spot.Police said,Das involved in around 42 criminal case and had returned from jail just three months ago.Police suspect that the murder might be a fallout of a past rivalry.Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are trying to identify the accused and sent the body for autopsy.
