Paralakhemundi:Throwing a open challenge to police sand mafia in Gajapati district has attacked two junior mining officers of the district.The two officers identified as Biswajeet mahato and Pintu dehuri.Sources said,today evening basing on a tip off about illigal lifting of morem from the hill near Singapur village Paralakhemundi PS,the two mining officers reached the spot.They found that the digging of the hill was on with a JCB by over 20 persons.As the officers asked them to stop,the group attacked the two minining officers and also damaged their official vehicle.However, somehow the information reached police,who reached the spot and rescued the two officers.While the officers are being treated,basing on their statements police registered a case.However no one has been arrested so far.The incident has raised concern among the officials.
