Berhampur: Berhampur police has arrested two members of a inter-state snatchers gang and recovered a good quantity of stolen articles today.The two has been identified as Das Rabi (28) of Ganjam and Sumen Pradhan (36) S/O of Jajpur district.Berhampur SP,Dr Saravana Vivek M said,last month,the two on a bike has snatched the gold ornaments of a woman on a scooty and fled away.Again during last week,a woman on the way to temple has lost her gold ornaments to the snatchers.Both the incidents took place under different PS limits.Soon three teams comprising of cops of both the PSs were formed. During investigation police identified the two from CCTV footage near both the spots and nabbed the two today.Besides,police also seized 7 mobile phones and 35.760 gram moleten and ornaments and the motor cycles used to commit the crimes from the two.During interrogation they confessed to have committed Gold Chain snatchings at Berhampur and other places of State.During verification of records of the motor cycle,it was found that,it was snatched from Harichandanpur PS,Keonjhar,where a case was already registered.After committing the snatching with others,the two came to Berhampur on the motor cycle and committed snatching cases in Berhampur.The two has been forwarded to court today said the SP adding that Harichandanpur PS Police will take the two accused persons on Court remand later.The SP further said,after court procedure the Golden ornaments will be handed over to the victims.
