Berhampur: Dispute over digging up of mouth of Bahuda river joinging sea near Ramayapatana village in Chikiti block of Ganjam district has created tension in the area.Sources said,Ramayapatana villagers dugup a new mouth encroching the Badanala and lands of Katuru village,for smooth passage of their boats into sea.As the Badanala attached to the channel,the villagers of katuru who earn their livelyhood by fishing in Badanala,today burried the mouth with sands.Trinath behera,Dibakar behera etc of Katuru village said,the original mouth got silted what posed problem for Ramayapatana villagers.They should approched the administration to dredging the mouth,insted they encroched our Badanala and lands and dug the channel.If the channel not be closed,no fish will be available in badanala and the sea water will frequently reach Katuru village.Following the digging and coverup,the residents of ramayapatana and katuru are in a confronting mood.However no police or administration reached the spot till the report filed.Even despite repeated attempt no administrative official contacted.
