Berhampur: Traffic on Soroda-Badagada road in Ganjam district,disrupted for several hours,following the road blocade by irate residents of Singipur village.Over 200 families reside in Singipur and the village has a water supply project.But it remained defunct since last fortnight,causing immense problem for the villagers.In the absence of supplied water,the villagers no option other than to depend on contaminated from open sources.The villagers repeatedly requested the various authorities,as no steps were taken to solve their crisis,the villagers,mostly women with empty pot squatted on the road.However,the blocade lifted following the assurence by BDO Tanmay patra and Tehsildar Akash ranjan sahu to provide safe drinking water to the village within a week.The officials also assured to reconstruct the restshed for the village.
