Boudh:In a shocking incident,three jawans of Indian Reserve Battalion(IRB)has been arrested by Manmunda police in Boudh district for allegedly possessing ganja.The three cops,identified as Kunar singh,havildar and constebles Trilochan rana and Nilam barla,whose possession around 15 kgs of contraband ganja seized from their police barrack yesterday night.Confirming the incident,Boudh SP Rahul Goel said a platoon of IRBn deployed at Manmunda PS for anti-naxal operation.Yesterday we got inputs about induldge of jawans of the IRBn and a raid was conducted by a sppecial police team,said the SP.During search while 5kg 100 gram ganja seized from the ossession of havildar Kunar another 7kg 780 grms ganja from Trilochan and 3 kg 50 gram from Nilam.The market value of total seized ganja of 15.930 grams has been estimated at Rs 1.5 lakh.The three jawans has been forwarded to court today and further investigation is on said the SP.Involvement of cops in ganja trade in the district is not new.In the recent past a consteble deployed in the special cell of Boudh SP,was intercepted by vigilance for collecting six lakhs from ganja peddlers to protect them.The consteble was suspended and later reinstated.
