Buguda,(Anil kumar Maharana): the first Ghumusar Day was celebrated with a grand gathering at the Bhanjanagar R.C.M. Conference Hall. The torch was brought from the Maa Byagrhadevi Peeth and the Ghoomusar Day celebration was officially inaugurated by the chief guest Bhanjanagar MLA Pradyumna Kumar Nayak and addressed the conference as a literary and historical Kumbh. Senior advocate Somnath Nayak presided over the conference. The first Odia language movement started on 11th September , 1870, in the Thakurani Ground of Bhanjanagar, the then name of Rasulkonda. In the memory of that day, the honored guest Sorada MLA Neelamani Bisoyi expressed in his speech that the celebration of the historic Ghumusar Day is our pride, the pride of this land. The second session was presided over by retired Principal Balmiki Patnayak. The history of Ghumusar is so unique and rare that Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja, Veer Chakra Bisoyi and Ghumusari Govansh emphasized the need for special government plans on various issues. They opined that the Bhanja dynasty in Ghumusar was the first in the history of the world to rule for more than a thousand years. Former Vice Chancellor Surendra Nath Pasupalak and Dr. Shiva Prasad Adhkari presented research on the Ghumusar cowherd, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mishra on the contribution of Shrikar Bhanja to Ghumusar, Dr. Byaman Churchi on the military art culture of Ghumusar, Dr. Anant Ram Koundinya on the role of Ghumusar in the formation of Odisha, Dr. Braj Kishore Padhi on the architecture of the Kuladagarh Jagannath Temple, Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra on the influence of Buddhism in Ghumusar, and Dr. Sthathadhi Rath on the wooden work in Ghumusar temples amazed everyone. IAS Babita Rani Swain, Baba Satyananda Maharaj, poet Prashant Mohanty and Eng. Yamini Kant Das were honored with the Ghumusar Gaurav Upadhi. Bhanjanagar cultural awakening was performed with Bharat Lila, Dasakthiya, Horse Dance, Odissi Dance, Kandhei Dance, Bhanja Music. Dr. Nalini Prabha Das presented the guest introduction , while Prakash Chandra Sahu, secretary of Ghumusar Bikas Parishad, proposed the vote of thanks. With the help and cooperation of Sushant Patra, Debashish Sahu, Muralidhar Panda, Shulpani Satapathi, Rabindra Samanta and various organizations, the Ghumusar Day celebration was a complete success.
