TEACHER OFFERS HIS ENTIRE SAVINGS FOR JAGANNATH TEMPLE

Paralakhemundi,(Tarini Prasad Panda): In a rare and soul-stirring gesture of unwavering devotion, Biranchi Narayan Rath, a humble teacher from Katalkaita village on the outskirts of Paralakhemundi, has etched his name in the annals of faith by dedicating not just his wealth, but his very future to Lord Shri Jagannath.
As the construction of the new Jagannath Temple in Paralakhemundi gathers momentum, Rath has once again stepped forward with a contribution of Rs 1 lakh. With this, his total donation now rises to an inspiring Rs 9 lakh—offered in phases with quiet humility and steadfast reverence.
Yet, what sets his devotion apart is a declaration that transcends material charity. In a profound act of spiritual surrender, Rath has announced that whatever remains in his bank account shall belong solely to Lord Jagannath and will be devoted entirely to the temple’s construction. Such an offering reflects not just generosity, but a complete relinquishing of worldly attachment at the altar of faith.
His noble gesture has deeply moved the temple construction committee and devotees alike. Members of the committee, including noted devotee Durga Madhab Panigrahi, have lauded Rath’s extraordinary commitment, describing it as a shining example of pure devotion in contemporary times.
In a parallel act of goodwill, Kasturi Amma of Patunuri, mother of the owner of Suriya Jewellery in Paralakhemundi, has also contributed Rs 20,000 towards the sacred cause.
As the temple walls rise, it is such acts of boundless faith that truly lay its spiritual foundation—where devotion speaks louder than words, and surrender becomes the highest offering.
