Berhampur, Baidyanathpur police in Berhampur has busted a six member gang with in a age group of 48 to 76 years,who bailedout hundreds of litigants fradulantly with fake documents.Berhampur SP,Dr Saravana Vivek M said,the incident came to fore when a woman lodged a complaint with police.The woman identifed as Sarijini behera(75)of Aska area on 21/12/2024,in her complaint has alleged that one Sudhir jena of Aska area imporsonating as her deceased husband late Ladu kishore behera,has released several persons on bail,faking the Aadhar card and land documents.Though the practice was continued since past many years,but Sorojini came to know a fortnight ago,when a summon reached her home against her deceased husband.Despite oldage and ailments,the reached the court in Berhampur and apprised that her husband died in 2021.Subsequently,the matter was placed before District judge,who followed up sincerely.Sources in court said,now steps are being taken to trace the advocates who duely identified the bailors and attested their documents. During course of investigation,the fake bailor has been identified as Sudhir kumar jena(48),who is running a vegitable outlet near the court premises.Sorojini also advised to lodge a complaint with police against Sudhir.The SP said,when an accused is involved in any criminal case and forwarded to the Courts he needs to be released in interim bail.To release in bail accused persons has to produce a solvent bailer with surety before the concerned Court.In many cases the habitual offenders like liquor traders,criminals involved in theft , burglary and snatching cases could not produce a solvent bailer by their own and nobody from their relatives and villagers generally agree to release them on bail.In such cases family members of the accused persons contact the above accused persons through their advocates who are roaming in and around the Court campus with fake land documents, Adhar cards etc. To release the accused persons from custody the bailer charges one thousand to two thousand rupees. After getting the desired amount, they produce their fake ID cards and land documents before the courts through their advocates to release the accused persons on bail without knowing the accused persons personally.In this case,one Adhar Card was produced by one Sudhir Jena stating as Ladu Kishore Behera.During investigation it was initially found that these two names were in the same Aadhar Number. On verification the said Aadhar Card was found that Sudhir Jena has fraudulently prepared a fake Adhar Card by inserting his photo in the Xerox copy of Aadhar card of Ladu Kishore Behera.Sudhir was apprehended on yesterday and during interrogation he confessed that,he is a vegetable Vender who sells vegetable on the road side of Kamapalli Chowk.In due course of time he came in contact with one Bijay Kumar Mohanty and came to known how to earn easy money by releasing accused persons on bail by producing fake documents.Bijay Kumar Mohanty gave him the fake land document of Ladu Kishore Behera and indulged him in this criminal practice.Incidently Bijay passed away after some days,and Sudhir contined the fradulant business.Sudhir has confessed that in last three years he has released more than 100 accused persons on bail by producing the I/D and land documents and its revenue tax receipt copy of Late Ladu Kishore Behera whom he never met in his life.Sudhir also disclosed the name of other accused persons Venket Prasad Pattnaik (55),of Lanjipalli in Berhampur,Sanyasi Mohanty (55),of Gosaninuagaon in Berhampur,Nirakar Sahu(76),of Srikrushna Nagar 5th Lane in Berhampur,Babula Nayak (70),of Lanjipalli Jail Road in Berhampur and Durjyadhana @ Judhistir Maharana(70),of Kolathia village under K.Nuagaon PS.Accordingly,Baidyanthpur P.S Case No. 601, Dt.21.12.2024, U/s 319(2)/318(4)/338/ 336(3)/340(2)/335/336(2) BNS has been registered.As per the confession of Sudhir,the five has been nabbed and during raid was conducted on their respective houses.During the raid,police seized,Fake and blank Khatian( Patta) with the seal and signature of different Tahasildar and Tahasil offices including Kanisi,Berhampur,Kukudahandi, Aska,Blank fake Revenue tax receipt with seal of Tahasil offices,Fake Aadhar Cards,said the SP.The six has been arrested and further interrogation is on,said the SP adding that search is on to trace Bijay and investigation is on to ascertain the number of persons bailedout fradulantly,so also the involvement of others in the deep racket.The six has been forwarded to court said the SP.
