Berhampur: Sankar pradhan(43), a BJP leader of Chikiti area has been arrested by K.Nuagaon police today on the charge of extortion.Police said,Sankar of Lalmenta village who is facing a criminal case in the PS in 2024,has reportedly demanded a rice mill owner E.Sapan kumar of Nuapada to pay Rs 10,000/- as dadabati.As Sapan expressed his inability,Sankar threatened to close his mill.Sapan on 9/3/2025 reported the matter at the PS and police registerd a case on the day.During investigation evidences against Sankar has been established.Today he has been arrested and forwarded to court.
