SECURITY BEEFED UP IN GANJAM

Chhatrapur:Security has been heightened in the coastal areas of Ganjam district,in response to intelligence reports about potential threats and increased security measures along the state’s coastline,including intensified patrolling and surveillance.This follows intelligence inputs suggesting that anti-national elements might attempt to enter Odisha via the sea route.Marine police stations in Ganjam, like Arjipalli, have been reinforced to monitor the coastline.Patrols and surveillance has been stepped up along the coastline to prevent any potential security breaches,said Ganjam SP,Subhendy patra.He said Ganjam have a coastline of over 33 kms and the security measures are a proactive response to intelligence suggesting potential risks,particularly the possibility of infiltration through the sea route.Since important establishments including Gopalpur port,Indian Rare Earths ltd,Grasim company etc exists in coastal areas in Chhatrapur block of Ganjam,security forces has been deployed for the safty of the establishments,the SP added.Marine police stations in Ganjam,such as Arjipalli,have been tasked with monitoring the coastline and deterring any illegal activities.Led by Chatrapur SDPO,Chandan ghadai and Marine IIC,Bidya bharati nayak the patrolling continued in sea and also in land.The IIC said,security teams deployed at the port has been directed for a thorough search of the ships reaches the port.Fishermen have been briefed on security protocols and urged to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.The coast guard and the marine police are collaborating to enhance security along the coastal stretches.Odisha’s coastline is strategically significant and the government has taken steps to improve coastal security, including establishing Marine Police Stations.Meanwhile the SP has urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the security measures,reporting any suspicious activity.
